Delivering Drug and Alcohol Education to Young People in Informal Settings

Aimed at:
This full day course is designed for anyone who works with young people aged 18 and under; for example, Youth and Play workers, Connexions PAs, School Nurses, Youth Inclusion workers and Housing Support workers and who have a role in educating young people about drugs and alcohol. Workers should attend Level 1 Substance Misuse before completing this course

Aims:
To enable practitioners to facilitate sessions with young people on substance misuse. To support practitioners to take a key role in coordinating and evaluating the work in their setting and linking with other agencies on substance misuse

Learning Outcomes:
• How your role contributes to building young people’s resilience
• How to design effective programmes for educating young people about substance use
• A range of resources to help make your sessions interesting and enjoyable

You can use the same form to apply for more than one course at a time but please ensure you include the title AND date of all the courses you wish to attend. These courses are free but if you cannot attend, you must let us know by 9a.m. on the day before the course or you will be charged £50 for full-day courses and £25 for half-day courses.
