Level 2: Delay and Positive Choices

Aimed at:
This course is aimed at practitioners working with young people who have attended Level 1 Sex and Relationships training and wish to extend their learning to carry out more focussed and proactive work in their setting. Participants must have attended Level 1 Sex & Relationships, or have experience of sexual health work. They are expected to have a good understanding of the law relating to sex and young people, including those under 13, to be confident to refer young people
to sexual health services and have considered the reason young people have sex and how their work encourages good
sexual health in young people.

Aims:
To improve participants’ ability to work with young people on delaying early sex by providing strategies and tools to help promote positive, healthy choices. The Level 2 courses are designed to follow on from the Level 1 Sex & Relationships Introduction. They provide workers with the opportunity to build their knowledge and skills by exploring some of the essential elements of good, effective sex and relationships work.

Learning Outcomes:
• Identify the key role played by self-esteem in sexual relationships
• Gain an understanding of the pressures young people experience around sex
• Explore how young people can be supported to make positive choices about their relationships and personal safety
• Acquire practical tools for building self-esteem

Please complete the form below at least 3 weeks before the date you have chosen. You will receive a letter 2 weeks before the course confirming your place & providing details of the venue. You can use the same form to apply for more than one course at a time but please ensure you include the title AND date of all the courses you wish to attend. These courses are free but if you cannot attend, you must let us know by 9a.m. on the day before the course or you will be charged £50 for full-day courses and £25 for half-day courses.
