C-card Training
Aimed at:
Participants must have attended Level 1 Sex and Relationships, or have experience of sexual health work. They are expected to have a good understanding of the law relating to sex and young people, including those under 13, to be confident to refer young people to sexual health services and have considered the reason young people have sex and how their work encourages good sexual health in young people. It is recommended that before joining the C-card Scheme workers also attend the Level 2 Sex and Relationships course ‘Facts and Values in Sexual Health’.
Aims:
To prepare workers to run Bristol’s C-card scheme in their own organisation (the scheme aims to make free condoms more widely available to young people under 25).
Learning Outcomes:
• Receive an introduction and background to the scheme
• Look at the practical issues involved in providing condoms to young people, including those under 16
• Practice ‘the conversation’ (the C-card registration process)
• Become familiar with the monitoring and administration of the scheme

Please complete the form below at least 3 weeks before the date you have chosen. You will receive a letter 2 weeks before the course confirming your place & providing details of the venue. You can use the same form to apply for more than one course at a time but please ensure you include the title AND date of all the courses you wish to attend. These courses are free but if you cannot attend, you must let us know by 9a.m. on the day before the course or you will be charged £50 for full-day courses and £25 for half-day courses.
