Christmas campaign 2009
The holiday season is just around the corner and it is the perfect time of year to promote young people’s personal safety.
NHS Bristol, Connexions, Youth and Play Services and Safer Bristol are working together to make sure young people have fun whilst staying safe and looking after themselves this Christmas and New Year.
The aim of the campaign is to:
- Reduce young people’s health risks, especially around taking drugs, alcohol and having unprotected sex, which can lead to unwanted pregnancy and catching sexually transmitted infections
- Increase awareness of support services so young people know where to go for help and advice, especially with changes to service opening times over the holiday period
- Increase involvement in positive activities and reducing those not in employment, education, and training by signposting young people to services such as Connexions.
A number of events and activities are planned for the campaign, including attending under-18 nights and a launch day on Saturday December 12th in The Galleries on Broadmead. However, more can be done across the city and we’ve produced a resource pack to help you plan activities for the young people you work with.
You can download information about the campaign, posters and activities. They are just guidelines and suggestions – feel free to adapt or add to them to best suit the young people you work with.
